Gym-Kat’s Recreational Program is designed to teach school age children from the age of 5 up to adults basic to advance tumbling with strength and flexibility. Athletes will learn several skills and skill combinations on the trampoline, tumble trak, double mini, and tumbling floor.

  

LEVEL 1: This is our introduction class to the world of Tumbling and Trampoline for all students ages 5 and up who are walking in with little to no background in gymnastics. The skills being taught on Trampoline will include tuck and straddle position, back drops, stomach drops, and seat drops. Tumbling includes front rolls, back rolls, cartwheels, backbends, and handstands. 

LEVEL 2: At this level your student will build off skills learned in level 1 and begin to learn flipping for front tucks on Trampoline and back handsprings on Tumbling. 

LEVEL 3: Trampoline skills at this level will include drills to obtain and master through both a back tuck and a front pike. At this level in tumbling students will have mastered their back handspring on Tumble Track while progressing through round off back handspring on the Tumbling Floor. 

LEVEL 4+: Starting at this level you’re going to see more independent work with a wide variety of skills. The Trampoline portion of this class has a mixture of skills consisting of forward and backward flipping while adding up to full twisting somersaults. On Tumbling students will be working multiple back handsprings and back tucks up to whips and back pikes. 


BEGINNER POWER TUMBLING- Students must have completed Level 1 to sign up for this class or take it in addition to a Level 2 or 3 class. This class is designed to teach the student skills and drills to gain upper body strength that will push them to achieve the goal of an unassisted standing Back Handspring on the tumbling floor through multiple Back Handsprings. 


INTERMEDIATE POWER TUMBLING- Students must have completed level 3 to sign up or take this class in addition to a Level 4 and 5 class. This class is designed to teach your student skills and drills and gain core and upper body strength that will push them to achieve the goal of back tucks on the Tumbling floor with a variety of Back Handsprings and somersaults on the Tumble Trak.


ADVANCED POWER TUMBLING: Students must have completed level 5 to sign up or take in addition to a level 6 and above class. This class is designed to teach the student skills and drills to gain both core and upper body strength to achieve the goal of multiple bounding, twisting, and double somersaults on Tumble Trak and Tumbling floor. 


ADULT GYMNASTICS- This laughter filled, stress-free, low-impact environment is designed for you to exercise while having fun being a kid again. In this program you will learn the art of Power Tumbling and Trampoline, maneuvering at your own pace through our different levels. 


BEGINNER CHEER + TUMBLING- This class aims to teach the fundamentals of cheerleading, including basic cheer motions, tumbling and jumps. This class is an excellent starting point for those interested in cheerleading


INTERMEDIATE CHEER + TUMBLING - For this class you must have a back walkover and be working on a backhand spring. This class is focused on connecting tumbling skills which includes round off backhand springs, jump combos and some stunts. 


ADVANCED CHEER + TUMBLING - For this class you must have a standing backhand spring. A Round off backhand spring is recommended but not required. This class aims to perfect technique in motions, tumbling and jumps. We will work some stunts, elite tumbling skills and jumps connected to tumbling.


HOMESCHOOL CLASS- Our goal for this physical education class is bringing your kids back to the old school days of Red Rover, throwing and catching a ball, riding on scooters, and learning how to jump rope. Each week they will be challenged with a new set of fine and gross motor skill games as we encourage sportsmanship, challenge them in friendly races, and bring team strategy into play. This is not a gymnastics nor ninja class, however activities will take place between the two gyms.
